About The Project

The Mission
The Daffodil Project at Mount Hope Cemetery works to restore sections of the cemetery, a national historic site in Rochester, New York, by planting daffodils and landscaping, returning the area to its original condition. This brings more visitors to the cemetery, connects people to the outdoors, and offers educational opportunities.

The Method
The Daffodil Project at Mount Hope Cemetery is a charitable organization that relies on donations and partnerships in the community to act on its mission. Orchestrated by a small group of committed volunteers, the project partners with local schools, businesses, and organizations in various ways to restore the glacial kettles of this historic cemetery and bring attention to this important Rochester landmark.
Firemen's Monument Planted with Daffodils
In 2024, we planted daffodils at the Firemen's Monument. Originally built in 1880 this monument stands tall, looking out over the City of Rochester. The Rochester Firefighters Benevolent Association, led by Devon Stedge, held an event honoring the lost firemen of this city.
